Experience Family Camp: A Fun & Supportive Weekend for Families Living with Diabetes
Whether you’re new to the world of diabetes or are a seasoned family camper, Camp Hertko Hollow’s Family Camp is the perfect opportunity to unplug, relax, and connect with others. Held at two beautiful Iowa locations—Des Moines Y Camp in Boone, IA for the Spring session (April 2025) and Camp Courageous in Monticello, IA for the Fall session (October 2025)—our family camps are designed to provide a welcoming, inclusive environment where families can enjoy the great outdoors while learning and growing together.
Family Camp is for families of children who are newly diagnosed, haven’t yet attended summer camp, or are veterans looking to deepen their connection with the camp community. During this all-inclusive weekend, families engage in fun, diabetes-friendly activities and workshops, learn from experienced camp staff, and hear inspiring stories from other families who have benefited from Camp Hertko Hollow’s year-round programming.
