ashley@camphertkohollow.com or call 515-443-5085.

The true cost of our programs greatly exceeds our fees, averaging around $1,600 per camper. The generosity of families and other donors makes our reduced camp fee a reality. Families and sponsors have the option of paying the full camper fee to help subsidize the cost of camp for families that cannot afford the full amount. The additional cost is tax deductible, and a receipt will be provided for tax purposes.

Financial

Aid Information

We are here to help.

Please do not allow the need for assistance to stand in the way of your son or daughter attending Camp Hertko Hollow. We fundraise all year long for your child and are honored to help in any way possible. Your child will greatly benefit from the experience and we are here to help get your child to camp!

Requesting Financial Assistance from Camp Hertko Hollow

If you do not have the resources to cover the full camp fee, Camp Hertko Hollow has funds available to assist with the cost. Funding is limited so we suggest that you try to find sponsors in your community (see below). However, if you are not able to secure funding through a sponsor you can request financial assistance from Camp Hertko Hollow. Your request can be completed when you register your child through the on-line registration process. Both full and partial assistance is provided depending on your need. No child is ever turned away due to an inability to pay so we encourage you to apply if you are in need.

Finding Sponsors

Families seeking financial assistance are encouraged to seek fundraising opportunities within their own communities as well. We recommend that you contact local service clubs, relatives, businesses, or other organizations to find sponsors for the full or partial camp fee. Local groups like Lions Clubs, Kiwanis, Rotary, and Fraternal Order of Eagles are usually very happy to help—they just need to be asked. Often these clubs will pay the entire camp fee. Just look in the phone book under “Service Clubs”, ask your Chamber of Commerce, or contact your health care team for assistance. If you are unable to find sponsors, we can help! See here for a sample letter.

Sponsors should include their name, address, phone, and e-mail with the check so that we can send a thank you letter. All checks should be made payable to “Camp Hertko Hollow” and provide the name of the sponsored camper in the “memo section” of the check. Camp Hertko Hollow must receive all sponsorship payments for summer sessions by June 1, 2026; sponsorship payments for Family Camp are due two weeks prior to camp.
