Jessica Thornton serves as Camp Hertko Hollow’s Executive Director leading its professional staff and working closely with the board on policies, planning, budgeting & finances, fundraising and relationship building.
Jessica received her Masters in Nonprofit Management from Regis University and her Bachelor of Arts from Carleton College. Jessica has a long history as a camp counselor at the Y Camp in Boone where she was first introduced to Camp Hertko Hollow. Jessica finds great joy in caring for her English Lab “Quigley”, spending time outdoors, playing and watching sports, and traveling.
Debra Holwegner (Deb) serves as the Camp Director for Camp Hertko Hollow, leading programs that enhance diabetes education & support for children and families of Type 1 & 2 diabetes through summer camp sessions, family retreats, and teen retreats.
Deb has over 11 years of non-profit experience in several areas that have led to her current camp director position. Her passion for diabetes camping was developed through her daughter Jenna who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 4. Deb loves to laugh, spend time with her husband and three kids, and also enjoys country living and traveling.
