Ashley Wunderlich
Executive Director
Ashley Wunderlich serves as the Executive Director for Camp Hertko Hollow, leading the organization in fulfilling its camp mission and to support children and families living with diabetes.
Ashley is a Certified Child Life Specialist with over 11 years of clinical, philanthropy, and therapeutic programming experience. Ashley holds a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Saint Mary’s University and an undergrade degree in Leisure Studies, with an emphasis in Child Life from University of Iowa.
Ashley loves animals, travel, reading, and spending time at home with family. Ashley is an Iowa native and currently lives in Mound, MN.
Matthew Shofroth
Camp and Family Programs Manager
At age 4, Matt was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and began attending Camp Hertko Hollow shortly after. He has now been involved with camp for over 20 years as both a camper and counselor. As a counselor, Matt greatly enjoyed volunteering at camp and being able to help campers have lots of fun and learn about diabetes, just as counselors did for him during his time as a camper.
Matt worked for Hy-Vee for nine years as a General Merchandise employee and manager. Matt graduated with an associates degree in Nursing from Eastern Iowa’s Scott Community College.
Matt enjoys spending time with his family and friends, watching motorsports, and exercising. He currently resides in Davenport, IA.
